Sending USDT from an exchange: why less can arrive than you sent

Exchange withdrawal fees, picking the right network, and what happens to a deposit that lands short.

2 min read

Most people fund their first card from an exchange. It works, but there are two things worth knowing before you press send.

The exchange takes its fee first

When you withdraw USDT from an exchange, the exchange takes its own withdrawal fee before the money is sent. Each exchange charges differently, and it can differ by network too.

So if you are asked for 50 USDT and you type exactly 50 into the exchange's withdrawal form, a little less than 50 reaches us.

The fix is simple: send enough that the full amount arrives. The deposit screen tells you how much must arrive, not how much to send, for exactly this reason.

What happens if less arrives

Nothing is lost. What arrives is held and added up, and you can send the rest to the same address.

When a deposit is short, the fees still come out of whatever arrives. On a new card that is the creation fee, and on a top-up it is the funding fee. The rest goes onto the card, and nothing is held back waiting for the difference.

Pick the right network

Each deposit address is issued for one coin on one network, and both are shown beside it. Before you confirm on the exchange:

  1. Check that the coin is USDT.
  2. Check that the withdrawal network matches the one shown beside your address.
  3. Paste the address and check the first and last few characters.

Sending on another network, or sending a different token, loses the money for good. Nobody can recover it.

If the network you want is not the one on your address, choose it on the deposit screen first. The order keeps its other addresses, and money sent to any of them counts toward the same card.

Deposits can take a while

An exchange withdrawal can sit in a queue for half an hour before it even reaches the network. Your address stays valid, so there is no need to send again. The card is created by itself when the money lands.

If your money has arrived but no card was created, don't send it again: a second deposit is a second payment. Email rynexsupport@gmail.com with the email address on your account and we will finish it for you.
